Getting started

  1. Install Wellness Nudge from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. The settings page opens automatically after installation.
  3. Choose active weekdays, your start and end time, and a snooze duration.
  4. Enable the reminder types you want and set their intervals.
  5. Select Save settings.
  6. Pin the extension from Chrome's Extensions menu for quick access to your progress and pause control.

Notifications are not appearing

Check each of the following:

  1. Open Wellness Nudge and confirm that reminders are not paused.
  2. Open the settings page and confirm the reminder type is enabled.
  3. Check that the current day and time are inside your selected active schedule.
  4. Use the reminder's Test button to request an immediate notification.
  5. Confirm Chrome notifications are allowed in your operating system.
  6. Check whether Focus Assist, Do Not Disturb or a similar mode is suppressing notifications.

Chrome and the operating system ultimately control whether a desktop notification is displayed. The extension cannot override system-level notification blocking.

Windows

Open Settings → System → Notifications, make sure notifications are enabled, and check that Google Chrome is allowed to show them. Also review Do not disturb and Focus settings.

macOS

Open System Settings → Notifications → Google Chrome and enable notifications. Review Focus modes if alerts are still hidden.

A reminder appears at an unexpected time

Reminder intervals are calculated inside the active window for each selected day. Saving new settings reschedules enabled reminders. A snoozed notification uses the snooze duration selected in the general settings.

Chrome may delay background alarms slightly when a device is sleeping or under heavy resource constraints. After the browser or device resumes, the extension restores its schedule.

Daily progress or badge count

Select Done on a notification or use Log an activity in the toolbar popup. The daily total is stored locally and displayed on the extension badge. Daily completion statistics are retained locally for up to 30 calendar days.

Pause or resume all reminders

Open the toolbar popup and use the master reminder switch. When reminders are paused, scheduled wellbeing notifications are disabled until you resume them.

Reset or remove stored data

Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage. You can also remove extension data through Chrome's extension management and site-data controls, depending on your Chrome version.

Why these permissions are required

  • Alarms: schedules enabled reminders and snoozed notifications.
  • Notifications: displays reminders with Done and Snooze actions.
  • Storage: saves reminder settings and local completion counts.

Wellness Nudge requests no host permissions and does not read the websites you visit.
